Colonel Jacob-Larkcom then referred to a letter which he had written to Sir Edward Gent, concerning the appointment of one Dr. Yang-Tsun-I to the Hong Kong University This gentleman, who is a doctor of geology and held an appointment at the Sun Yet Sen University, had worked with Colonel Jacob-Larks om and the latter considered him to be intensely pro-British and very well qualified for an appointment to the Hong Kong University, particularly as he was a China Chinese and not a Hong Kong Chinese. He felt that if Dr. Yang-Tsun-I were appointed to the Hong Kong University, he would serve as a valuable link between that University and the Chinese University. I said that I would look into this matter and if there was anything more I felt that Colonel Jacob-Larkcom could do to further the matter I would let him know.
